What it does
The Slugify tool turns any text - titles, headings, product names, whole lists - into clean, URL-safe slugs. It lowercases the input, transliterates accented and non-Latin characters to their closest ASCII equivalents (so “Café” becomes “cafe” and “Straße” becomes “strasse”), and replaces every run of punctuation, whitespace, and symbols with a separator you choose.
It’s built for the real work of generating URLs, file names, anchor links, and identifiers. Switch to Batch mode to slugify a whole list of titles at once (one slug per line), cap the length to fit URL or CMS limits, strip common stopwords, or keep the original casing for branded identifiers. Everything runs 100% client-side - nothing you paste is ever sent to a server, so it’s safe for sensitive content.
How to use it
- Pick a Mode: Single for one string, or Batch to process a multi-line list (one slug per line).
- Type or paste your text into the Input box (or hit Sample to try a demo).
- Choose the Case: lower (default), Preserve, or UPPER.
- Choose a Separator (
-,_,., or Custom for anything else). - Optionally set a Max length to truncate at the last whole word (0 = unlimited).
- Optionally set Stopwords to Strip to drop common words like “the”, “a”, “of”.
- Read the result in Output, then Copy it - or Copy share link to encode your input and settings in the URL.
