App Icon Generator

What it does

Takes one source image and produces the standard web app icon set as PNGs: 16 and 32 px favicons, the 180 px apple-touch-icon, and the 192/512 px manifest icons. Each output is rendered with high-quality smoothing and a centered contain-fit (letterboxing on transparency, or a white background if you prefer opaque icons). You can download sizes individually or the whole set at once.

Decoding and rendering happen entirely in your browser — the image is never uploaded anywhere.

How to use

1. Drop a square logo or icon (PNG with transparency works best).
2. Toggle the white background if you want opaque icons.
3. Press Generate icon set.
4. Download the sizes you need, or Download all.

A single 512×512 or 1024×1024 master is the ideal source; smaller sources still work but scale up poorly at 512.

Examples

Dropping a 256×256 transparent PNG generates five files: icon-16.png, icon-32.png, apple-touch-icon.png (180), icon-192.png, icon-512.png — the exact set a <link rel="icon"> + web manifest workflow expects.

Good to know

• ICO format is not produced: modern browsers all use PNG favicons, and the 32 px PNG covers the classic use case.
• Transparency is preserved by default; some app stores and launchers prefer opaque icons — use the white background toggle for those.
• The contain-fit never crops or stretches: non-square sources letterbox.
